System is over charging
I have a 1951 rat rod ford pick up with a 1973 ford 302 engine. The battery blew up because of over charging. Charging at 16 amps. I replaced the Battery, Alt, And Voltage regulator. Still chargin at 16 amps. Where do I look from hear.

I would look into the wiring. For some reason, it's not getting regulated voltage.

Re: System is over charging
Well, 16amps is nothing to be worried about, so im going to assume you mean 16 volts. Which would be a problem. You should double check your wiring to whatever spec you have to make sure everything is where it needs to be. If wiring checks out. I would start going after grounds. its possible the alternator itself lost its ability to ground to the chassis, motor mounts by themselves are often not enough. you can test by taking some jumper cables and hooking onto the alternator body and the frame and seeing what happens.
