Turn signal switch .... armature mounting

I did a search and looked at the diagrams but I can't tell if the armature for the turn signal switch screws into the plastic switch or if theres some other piece that it screws into.

what are you trying to do? replace the turn signal cam?

I don't have a turn signal switch assembly... didn't come with the truck. but the original rod/lever arm did. So on the column theres the hole but no place to screw in the rod. I need to buy the switch assembly but wanted to make sure there wasn't something else i was missing.

the turn signal arm screws right into the turn signal switch.
