Nuetral Saftey Switch
I just swapped from a manual trans, original equiptment, to an automatic. Does anyone have an idea on what to do with the neutral safety swith and the back up light switch. I prefer not to jury rig the thing and would like to go as original as possible. Thanks Jack

Did you install an auto column or is it floor shifted?

the neutral safety switch is on the lower inside part on the column in a automatic. if you haven't put a automatic column in then you should be able to leave what you had alne. if you did then you need to hook that up to the correct wiring in your truck.

depending on column or floor shift, you wiring is going to change a bit.
I don't know if you got the switch on the column or trans right now
SO
for the safety switch the red wire blue line between the relay and ignition switch you add your switch in, almost every ford uses the red with blue line wire for a starter sol./relay/ feed wire so it should simplify things.
black wire red line is the back up lights. so you should be able to patch it in to the old back up swith plug off the std trans.

Re: Nuetral Saftey Switch
My nuetral safety switch housing broke off my column. To kill two birds with one stone, I just wired it to a push button switch and hid it in the cab. Now it serves as an anti-theft device as well.

And now your reverse lights don't work.

My reverse light switch is in the engine bay attached to the column.
