I was a DJ on the radio for over 25 years, and want to use an old school Shure microphone (think Elvis) gutted and wired with red LEDs for a brake light.
I have not decided whether it will hang down from inside the rear window downward, or mount on a stand upright from the bottom of the window.
My questions and/or concerns: do I have to use a specific (volts, watts) light for this on-and-off application from the brake? Can I simply patch into the wiring that leads to the rear brake lights? Is there anything I should be aware and/or careful of as I begin this project?

Re: Custom Brake Light Help
Yes and No. You will need to provide more info to know if it is made handle the voltage swings from the charging system. What LED lighting are you going to be using? Are you building the circuit or are you using something already existing?
