'79 F100 Pkg. lights

'79 F100 Pkg. lights
Can anyone tell me if the parking lights are supposed to come on with the headlights on? All marker lights come on so I am guessing they do. Mine don't. Right front turn signal works but the left doesn't. Test light shows power getting to the back of the socket but nothing on the inside terminals so I'm guessing a bad socket. Thanks in advance and sorry if it's a silly question but I just want to be sure before I try to make something work that isn't supposed to.

I'm not 100% sure but I believe around 1970, and forward, everything was redesigned for the front marker lights to come on with the headlights. 1969 and back they did not. Something like that anyway.

Thank you, sir. I assumed that was the case so if the new socket doesn't do the trick I'll start searching for other gremlins.
