OT - '92 Camry ignition switch replacement

Post by sargentrs »

Just for educational purposes, as I've already "improvised" it and it's working, anybody ever replace the ignition switch on a '92-'96 Camry? There's a small, white, push button switch on top of the ignition lock/cylinder mounting that must be removed as it is part of the ignition switch. However, as I said, it's on TOP of the lock/cylinder and held on with two tiny screws. For the life of me, I can't figure out how to get to it to remove it. I fiddled around for almost an hour and finally gave up, cut the harness, and spliced the new one in. Anybody done one of the things that could tell me how to get to that switch to remove it? Thanks for checking!
