Right turn signal doesn't work

Post by 1971ford »

I'm currently working on getting All the wiring and electronics working like off the factory line on my 69 f250 highboy.

Headlights, highbeams, brake lights, taillights all work great. Left turn signal works great.
But i hit the right turn signal and they stay on instead of flashing. No "click" from the flasher behind the dash either. The blue wire that goes from the turn signal switch to the flasher is getting constant power when right turn signal is on. It pulses with the left turn like it should.

Thoughts?

My first guess would be the turn signal switch. Since the left turn signal is working that indicates a good flasher unit. Since the right turn is lighting (just not flashing) that indicates good wiring. You could bypass the switch and check the rest of the system by disconnecting the column plugs and jumping the blue wire (power from the flasher) to the green wire (R/H Turn). :2cents:

Actually i had this exact same problem when i was working on mine. The right flashers worked like normal, but when i switched to the left they turned on, but didn't flash. I had a brand new TSS and the flasher can worked going right so i assumed it was ok. I had power so i couldn't figure out what was wrong. :? The problem ended up being being a bad connector where the front bulb assembly connects to the harness. They way i took it that i had enough juice to light the bulb but the connector was limiting it just enough that there wasn't enough to make it flash. Spliced in a new one and was good to go. :D

Dont know for sure if its your problem but something to consider. Hope you get it figured out. :fr:
