Until I got under the truck and could not find a hot wire (I just assumed there would be one hanging down. So I opened the drivers side tail light cover where the light bulb is connected and where I knew there would be power. I unplugged the bulb wire at the connector and then used that power to figure out how the lamp worked.
Then I decided to go under the truck to see if I could trace that wire back to a place where I could splice in. I hadn't spliced or anything yet and then I noticed that the taillights don't work! I guess I broke something but neither tail light is working.
Is is possible I blew a fuse? The headlights still work and the fuses look ok but I am not sure what I did.
Where do I start? Also, should I start thinking about a wiring harness or is that just way to big a job for something as small as this?
