Heater control wiring

Post by max03 »

Anyone know if the heater control wiring for a 69 is exact to work on a 68? Trying to fix everything within the cab and down to this task.. Purchased a new control head assy with switch and it's not getting any power, fuses are good? I bypassed the blower motor and ran the hot to the battery to verify that it works, she blows good! Obviously my issue lies somewhere between the fuse panel and heater switch or possibly the blower resistor? Does the power travel to the switch first or resistor? I've printed the 69 model schematic from the tech link but didn't see one for my 68 listed..

1968 swb no AC.

Is it possible the heating control panel could have the wrong switch??
What's the differences in "fresh air heat" and "deluxe heat".

Thanks for future references and advice!

When I brought the project home it had no type of heating controls, the setup I have was purchased from Tybob here last year, the actual 3speed fan switch has 3vertical prongs and horizontal.. My original harness has 2vertical and 2horizontal, that may be an issue, but I've still got to track down why the power isn't being provided. :fr:

Got the wiring done as the diagram instructed, finally have heat:) on the low setting nothing works, on the mid setting it blows high, on the high setting it blows low? Maybe a bad resistor or my wiring knowledge :?
