Starter wire question

Post by randyj68 »

Trying to hook up my starter without blowing anything up, curious if anyone can help me out. My 5 speed transmission and hell housing is out of a 98 mustang, bought the starter for the 98 mustang after trying an old style starter (the old style starter fit and turned the motor, but didnt sound right). The 98 mustang starter has a wire that I'm trying to figure out where to run. Any input appreciated!!

If it helps anyone in future projects similar to mine, I ran the cable from the backside of the fender mounted solenoid as if there was an old style starter and made a short jumper wire to the adjacent post on the late model starter and it works like a champ. A few more odds and ends to hook up to finally hear her run....
