I have a 1970 F100, 360, with factory air. At some point, a previous owner disconnected the compressor both electrically and mechanically (removed belts). Currently, I have no heat or AC. The AC doesn't bother me as much, as I can get by with rolling down the windows to at least help, but no heat is a non-starter.
I've looked and looked, but can't for the life of me figure out what's going on. I have no power at the fan switch (I think I'm testing it right anyway, no combination of hot lead + ground on my multi-meter gets me anything back when the key is on).
Is the power fused in line somewhere, or is it supposed to be fused at the fuse box. I'm using http://www.fordification.com/tech/wirin ... epanel.jpg as a reference, but that's for a 69. I've also looked up the fuse box online for a replacement, and it looks the same. Now for the confusing part.
MY fuse box has the same slots, but the slot labeled "HEATER" only contains one retaining clip. I removed the fuse box to have a look behind, and there doesn't seem to be a corresponding wire for that slot coming from the wiring harness.
ANY ideas would be much appreciated. Electrical problems about have me at the end of my rope. My 3 month (weekends only) adventure of figuring out why the alternator wasn't working about had me selling the truck as it was (turned out one of the posts was sorting because the alternator spacer on the bottom bolt was missing. Made one from parts at Home Depot and all is well there at least).
