heater seal kit

Post by 69f-100 »

hey guys, i bought a heater seal kit from npd. everything they sent is from D.C., my question is the new foam pieces that go on the defrost and heater doors inside the box do not have a sticky back to them. they are just foam pieces, is there some kind of adhesive i can buy to affix them on the doors that won't eat the foam away? has anyone ran into this before putting a new seal kit in thier heater box? i'm sure thier is something i can use i just dont want it to be so strong that it eats the foam upon application.

Good day 69F-100,

I used 3M P/N 051135 for that in my box:

Maybe browsing through my heater box rebuild thread (yet incomplete) would be entertaining for you.

Could I ask for advice on improving #50's heater?

I dont have an answer for you, but look at Robroy's past threads as he has one where he rebuilt his heater box and I remember him addressing the foam flaps in that thread.

That aside, I have a question. I am going to be rebuilding my heater box soon and was curious which kit you bought? I saw one on NPD, but it only shows 2 rubber gaskets. Is this the kit you bought?

If so, does it come with more than is pictured? If not, can you link the kit you bought, or put the part number up? I am very interested in an "all in one" kit for when I do my box.

Thanks!

EDIT: and as I was typing my reply, Robroy himself makes an appearance and answers the same thing (with more helpful info and a link!).

Its a link to an empty shopping cart... Any chance you can list the part number or numbers? Thanks again!

Thanks, that helped a lot. For some reason I kept overlooking that 2nd kit, and that is the one I was looking for. I appreciate it!!
