67 F100. The previous owner installed an under dash ammeter for some reason. Maybe the stock one wasn't working. In any case, I pulled an ammeter from another 67 at the junk yard and want to disconnect the aftermarket ammeter. The pic shows what the p.o. did with the wiring at the solenoid (2 red wires). If I simply remove those wires (2 red) and reconnect the yellow and red (from wiring harness) and black wire (to voltage regulator) to the solenoid positive terminal, will that be correct? I don't want to fry anything with my ignorance.
Thanks guys.

I think your going about it correctly, but without knowing what is happening under the dash I really wouldn't want to commit to anything...

Re: Help with wires to starter solenoid
Thanks. I've looked at that schematic also. That's what worries me. it doesn't match what I currently am seeing at my solenoid.
Anyone else out there with a '67? If so, can you tell me if the wires at your solenoid look anything like mine, and how mine should be connected?

Look at the other years as someone may have replaced the wiring harness.
