HEATER MOTOR?

Post by Bullit »

Hi all!
I just have a question that might be on the "electrically challenged" side.
I'm re-building my interior and pulled the heater motor out. Is there a good way to test it that I can be sure it's good?
I tried hooking it to a battery and got zilch. Hooking it direct should make it run....right? Is there something to this I'm missing?
I took the black wire and touched it to the - side of the battery, the red to the + side and got nutt'n... Do I need to look for another motor?
I got this motor from the local 'yard... Just wanna put a running one in...
Any input?

That is the right way to test it... sounds like yours is bad...

There is a conversion listed somewhere here using a Chevy motor and squirrel cage that flows a lot more air... if you have to replace your motor that may be a better route.

Make sure it's grounded before hooking up the juice to it!
And hey, if you have to get a motor anyway...
Might as well do the "upgraded heater" motor a few have done here.
