Emergency Flasher Switch
Are the 67-72 emergency flasher switch all the same or are the 67's different?

Re: Emergency Flasher Switch
67's have a bigger square box "style"(no longer avalible)mounted to the dash support......small can style will replace it. Both my 67's were replaced with smaller cans
I've had enough and I'm not alone

Re: Emergency Flasher Switch
I think it was 67-69 that the switch mounted inside the glove box.
70-72 mounted in the dash on the RH side of the steering column.

My 69 was in the glove box too. The Mustangs were there and same switch for some years also.

I pulled one from the glovebox area on a 70-72 F250 truck at a junkyard along with the radio some time ago.

Re: Emergency Flasher Switch
Yeah, the 67-69 switches were in the glovebox, while the 70-72 switches were in the dash. The 67-69 switches are right to left toggle switches, and the 70-72 switches were pull knobs. However, all of the switches use the same wiring plug and wire the same way. I put a 70-72 switch in the F600 dash of my buddies 67 truck and just cut the stock wire and added longer wire to run the stock plug back to the driver's side of the truck. Spliced it back together and used the stock 67 plug to plug right into the 70-72 style switch. Worked perfectly. So same wiring and plugs, just 2 different style switches.
I am doing the same modification with my 69 Crew as I will be running an F600 dash in there as well and have my 72 Emergency flasher switch mounted on the dash.
If you are looking for a 67-69 style swich, you can sometimes find them in a pick-a-part located in the glove box, if it is still in-tact. If not, I have at least 1 extra, maybe even 2 of them.

Ok thanks I have 2 of the toggle switch type. Thats what type is the one I pulled off that 70-72 F250.Calfdemon wrote:Yeah, the 67-69 switches were in the glovebox, while the 70-72 switches were in the dash. Re: Emergency Flasher Switch
Yea, just had to lengthen the white/blue stripe wire. Installed a '70-'72 style switch where the choke control used to be. So much nicer!

Re: Emergency Flasher Switch
my 69 has the toggle switch mounted on the bottom of the dash, below the lighter area (i'd have to go look to be more specific)..probably not in the glovebox due to it having factory AC.

Re: Emergency Flasher Switch
Does factory A/C effect where the flasher switch is placed? I also have A/C and my switch is under the dash near the steering wheel.

Re: Emergency Flasher Switch
I had a parts truck 67 f350 that was mounted under the dash but not sure if someone moved it or not. My 67 f100 is in the glove box.

Re: Emergency Flasher Switch
the glovebox on the factory ac trucks is considerably smaller so it wouldn't surprise me if all the factory ac trucks had the switch by the column (mines below the cargo light switch)
