fubar ignition switch

Post by fonfixer »

Ok, first off for all y'all that don't know "fubar" means broke and can't be fixed. Now can anybody give me a good source for a replacement ignition switch for a '67? Mine expired this morning, I soaked it in WD40 but that did nothing. The key is so worn its almost smooth down the sides so it was going to get replaced sooner or later. No foreign crap allowed!! I would rather redneck engineer something than have MADE IN CHINA/TIAWAN/KOREA

Dennis Carpenter, Napa, a local classic mustang shop (so you can see what you are getting).

Since it sounds like the switch is OK but the cylinder is FUBAR, I would get a cylinder first...

NPD part#11572-1 on page 151 for $47.90. No telling where it's made though. You can call them and ask them "country of origin" and they'll usually walk back and look at the part, (which most suppliers won't do).

from what i've read you have to have the switch "on" to remove the cylinder. since i can't turn the cylinder think i could drill it out without much damage?

For those who don't know what fubar means, you need to watch Tango & Cash. (sorry, had to)

Good luck on the ignition fix!

Takes a little while to load. If you can't turn key at least you can see some what inside before drilling.
