The "resistor" is on the backside of the assembly-held in by two 5/16" head screws, you can see it in this picture:

I'm not sure if you can pull it out without unbolting the housing or not? :hmm:
Anybody else been able to pull it out without unbolting the housing?

The resistor doesn't do anything on high, it controls low and medium.

When on high, the heater switch supplies power directly to the motor, bypassing the resistor coils.

#270 would be high
#268 & 269 would be the other two speeds.

I would start by checking the wiring for #270 that runs to the resistor assembly. Check for corrosion or a broken wire. Also check to make shure the blower motor has a strong good ground, because high draws allot of amps.

If that's all ok, then suspect the new switch.

What about running a power wire to the motor itself and by passing the switch. There is a connector about 6 inches from the motor on the power wire.
