64 heater assembly in a 67???

Post by 67jdfabworks »

Can I use a heater assembly from a 64 in my 67? PO had apparently removed the heater assembly from truck, so I have no heat/defrost in my truck. :help: I have had no luck in finding a correct heater assembly for my 67. I know I can buy an aftermarket heater from Vintage Air, etc.. But would like to use a "factory" setup if possible. I found a heater from a 64 and its mount bolts look like it would work, but don't want to drop the coin if it won't work.. So any help/suggestions would be greatly appreciated

From what I know they wont work... I know that the guys with the pre-67 (slick side) trucks have a hard time even finding a heater core for their trucks as they aren't being made for them... The Dent side heater box is also not going to fit as the dash is different that it wont fit that I know of. :2cents:

I got a whole heater box off of ebay a couple years ago, and there are lots of wrecking/junk yards out west that have these trucks. Try looking here http://www.car-part.com/ a lot of the ones on this list will ship the parts, or here http://1077.yippie.biz/ for places around your area.

Also, post in the "Parts Wanted" section as there are people parting out trucks all the time.
