Distributor point installation

Post by McDays »

Hi Everybody. I know it may sound strange but after I have 2 Accel Electronic point system burned out
(it happens because unfortunately I did disconnect the negative battery cable while the engine was running).
Then, I decide go back to old point system. My truck is a 1971 F100 with 302 engine.
What happen is that I cannot recall how it was installed. This is why I need some help. I appreciate that.

i am going to guess the resistor wire was removed when you did the accel swap so that will have to be rehooked or replaced. then just put the points in it. since i know nothing about how accel is put into our trucks. the coil if changed will also have to be a points coil.

You know what I mean: I have those parts that were pulled out. I can screw it back because there are holes for those screws and connect the wires.
But after that? ? ?

after the original stuff is all back . i would set the points and see if it starts. if it doesnt start then yo ucan check power coming from the switch to the coil. and keep checking for power all the way to the spark plugs.
