'69 Winshield washer? Missing Pump?

Post by alvald83 »

Now that my truck is about finished, i am focusing on the small things. I've known that the washer resevoir was missing, but i notice that there is a wire harness plug located on the left inner front fender where the resevoir belongs.

Am i to assume that this is for the washer pump?
Is the pump part of the resevoir? It is right along side the washer tubing.

Thanks for your help. Al

Yes ford had 2 diff styles.67-69 and 70-72.If you have a 69 you need the one that looks like a backwards L.It comes out the bottom of the reservoir. The other style they had was on the 70-72 model with the pump in the bottom of the reservoir. The 69 pump part number you need is C8SZ-17664-A. The 69 reservoir number you need is C8TZ=17618-A.if you want nos than you can go to partsvoice.com,follow the prompts (its free) and it will tell you the dealers in the US who still have one and it will start from the nearest to the farthest from you.
Hope this helps

I got mine on ebay for a good price.

AFAIK, there aren't any available from any dealers on PartsVoice.

However, you can get one from DC if you want to pay an outrageous price!!! (Much more than for a 71-up pump)

By the way, AMC used the same pump on AMC cars and Jeeps in the same era...
