license plate lights

:? question, is the wiring for the license plate lights supposed to be a two wire setup? where does it ground to? its for my 69 f100 i'm haveing a friend rewire the truck for me and the wiring for it has been cut off. can anyone help me out here?

The light fixture itself grounds to complete the circuit, so one wire. The power for it is from the the parking light circuit at the rear of the vehicle. So the constant red tail light circuit, not the brake or turn circuit.
