67 brake light and turn signal problem

Post by drew_conner75 »

hey guys this is my first post on FORDification, i have a 67 f100, all the lights work except for the brake lights, turn signals and hazards. Is a turn signal switch from a 65 compatible with a 67 and also are the hazards not working stopping my brake lights from working? or will fixing the turn signal switch fix the brakes lights also, i know the wiring for the brake lights goes to the steering column. any info would be appreciated , thanks!

it does sound like the turn signal switch. everything you mentioned goes throught the turn signal switch. wire number 810 black with a red stripe is the power to the tuen siganl switch basically. it coems from the fuse box. you might check that fuse and its connections. these trucks get older everyday and can get corroded conncetions in the fuse box and behind it. i have seen a couple of them with bad connectors on the back of them.
