3 speed manual w/ overdrive....SWITCH?

Post by hotrodrigue »

Anyone know where to get a replacement switch for the R11 overdrive unit?

I ordered the switch (for the older model truck) off of LMC just to see if I could use it. And....I can use it with some linkage modifications and a new bracket to hold the switch. The contacts on the one that LMC offered has screw terminals and I will have to cut the harness. Of course, I'd rather keep the wire harness stock as well as all the bracketry.

Thanks,
Robbie

if you cant find one. take some new wire and wire it into and hanging off of that switch. on the bare end of the new wire put spade terminals or bullet terminals and plug that into your old harness. then you dont have to cut your old harness up.

good idea. hopefully someone on here knows where I can get a new or used one. I'd much rather keep it stock.

is the old one bad or did it just fall apart? sometimes you can carefully put those kinds of swithces back together if the spring and all the parts didnt fly every where.

I got it in pieces from the owner when I got the truck to restore for him.

I have a little cup full of parts, but I can tell not all of them are there. I have a little square plastic piece, small spring and large spring...see new pic. This is all I got.

Who would sell parts for a Ford Country Squire? I would have to imagine that switch is available somewhere.

I will call Bob Allen Ford on Tuesday assuming that they are closed for the holiday tomorrow.

High dollar? ..... No big deal. The owner insn't concerned....he just wants the truck finished and this is all that's left.

I had purchsed the one that I have from LMC. If Bob Allen Ford can get me the right kickdown switch, I will return the incorrect one to LMC.

Thanks a bunch 70_F100!!!!and everyone else....ya'll are all very helpful!

wel it is just an impression he gives on tv. and the price of his cars. the part is probably priced by ford. so it wont be rediculous. you could probably order it through your local ford dealer and tell them where to get it from. and bob allen will ship it to your local dealer.

I'll contact Bob Tuesday and see if he'll ship to me. If not, I'll try that out.

I wonder if this is old stock or if it is something that's available by special order. I've had such a hard time locating one until I asked you guys :D
