whats next?

Post by jay1213 »

Here's the deal I recently picked up a set of headman headers they are going into a dual 2 1/2 inch pipes exiting in front of the rear tires. I'm wondering what 2 do performanxe wise next. I'm debating between edelbrock 750 carb, and a new intake. The intake choices are a weiand action plus and the edel performer rpm. This is a street truck that I'm trying 2 get the most bottom end without sacrificing 2 much top end. Also any suggestions are welcome heads, whatever anybody has idea wise.

I would say go for both of them. The carb with a good intake manifold will do wonders for the motor. Although I probably wouldn't go for a 750 cfm unless you're investing and planning on going to a bigger motor soon. A 600 or 650 will fit that 360 better.

yeah the 750 is better suited for a 390 or larger, a cam would help with low end too

I got a Weiand on my 390. I love it! Been a great intake and looks good. But if you want your stuff to match go with the Edelbrock Performer, it's just as good in my eyes.

No it doesn't have 2 match and personally I wish I could find a performance carb that isn't chrome or alumimnum. "All chrome no go" I hate shiny stuff on cars and trucks. Now seeing it elsewhere makes me stop and go oooohhhhhh awwwwww

Do not go with a Performer intake!!! You would be better off with a stock one then the Performer. Go with the RPM intake. Much better then the other ones by far. Go to FordFE.com and look up the intake comparo....

For a good carb, I would consider a Holley 650 4160. You will keep your bottom end and have good top end! JMHO

jay1213,

why not get the Dichromate finish on a 600? no shine to it at all, and you could have a new intake powder coated any color to suite you taste

why not just keep all your parts on the shelf until you have it all together and then put it all on. that way you'll have a better chance at feeling the improvement in performance and save the money on the adaptor you speak of. just my :2cents:
