'72 Emergency Flasher Switch

Does anyone know the switch configuration?

single pole double throw or

double pole double throw or ????

I'm at work and can't check it right now with the ohm meter.

It’s neither! Just got home and ohmed one out and checked a '72 wiring diagram. The switch is peculiar; it has four contacts and connects them all together.

The four contacts are:
Front Left turn signal
Front Right turn signal
Stoplamp circuit
Emergency flasher

One contact of the emergency flasher is always hot. The other contact goes to one of the contacts on the emergency flasher switch. The other contacts are listed above. In the ‘Off’ position, all of the contacts are isolated. In the ‘On’ position, all of the contacts are connected together. Now power goes thru the emergency flasher and out to the switch which connects it to the front left and right turn signals plus the stoplight circuit.

The switch I ohmed out has part # C8TB-13A350-C, NPD has that switch with the generic # 13A350 ($112.50 ouch!) but it looks a little different. I seem to remember the cars like the Mustang, Cougar and such use the same switch.

Actually....no.

I'm looking for a standard toggle switch that I can use with the other switches on the dash that I have so that they all match.

I ordered one today that is a 3 pole single throw switch (3PST) that I can wire up to mimic the original Hazard switch.

Look for 68 f series the switch was in the glove box and is a toggle type save you the wire configuration mess.

Cool thanks...but it's allready in the mail and wiring for me isn't that big of a deal
