Custom Console/Speakerboxx! So happy!
Oh yeah guys! After one hard day, check out this. I got some free 6x9's from a friend that I really wanted to use, but couldn't find anywhere practical to put them. So I made one. Lemme know what yall think! Custom Console

Like they say, necessity is the mother of invention!
Add a little matching upholstery to that and it'll be sharp.

Now all you need to do is play some Led Zeppelin II Whole Lotta Love and see how that stereo separation works out.
I did something similar in the dash hole once on my Falcon, but I tilted each speaker about 10 degrees away from each other and that helped a lot.
Upon closer inspection I was trying to see how you shift this truck and then I finally saw the shifter slammed into the seat. How's that working out for you?

Voice coils are (supposed to be) covered with a dust cover to protect them (imagine them, as they are, in the back window of most cars), so as long as you don't poke a hole in the center cone cover, you should be OK. It's that spilled coffee from Starbucks I'd be more concerned with. The only thing I would be concerned with is getting dust and dirt into the speakers.
It will of course happen and if it gets into the voice coil it will destroy the coils in no time.

If he is using the standard speaker covers the holes in it will allow dust in it.Whoaaanelly wrote:Voice coils are (supposed to be) covered with a dust cover to protect them (imagine them, as they are, in the back window of most cars), so as long as you don't poke a hole in the center cone cover, you should be OK.
