So I took a chance on this under dash ac unit. It is definitely for a bumpside, but that is about all I know about it. Would this have been a dealer installed kit? I didn’t get the compressor or the evaporator coil, but I would like to get this thing running in my truck.
I guess I need a compressor, an evaporator, a pressure switch and an accumulator?

Yep, dealer installed unit. Looks like the one in the Figure 17 photo. http://www.fordification.com/tech/factory-AC.htm You'll also need some mounting brackets that match your engine. These guys can supply everything you need. https://www.oldairproducts.com

Interested in this thread; sounds like a cool project. Looks like maybe it was installed in a Ranger XLT judging by the wood grain vinyl on the panel?

It is going to be a while before I get around to installing this. I am tearing the truck down to replace cab mounts right now.

Cool, got one of these in my 71 Camper Special, been in it since we picked it up used in 73. Gonna see if I can update with newer internals.
