Bucket Seat Brackets

If anyone has looked into getting a set of the bucket seat brackets made with the CAD files in the tech section (http://www.fordification.com/tech/bucketseats.htm) you may want to just purchase a set here and save yourself some $$$:

I took the drawings to a fab shop with a plasma cutter and CNC break and it was going to be over $300 for a set.

wow....everything is crazy expensive these days. I'm wanting buckets in the 67, doubt I can ever find the mustang low backs though

You can buy new seats from CJ Pony Parts. https://www.cjponyparts.com/procar-seat ... SEAT90L-V/ Looks a little expensive ($317 upholstered) but if you consider buying a set of used seats and replacing the foam and upholstery, it's comparable. I paid $160 for my used ones + $60 shipping. I stripped them down, blasted and painted the frames and rebuilt the tracks. I'll be buying the Sport foam for increased padding and support, and then having a local upholstery shop recover them. That's easily going to exceed the $600+ for a new set complete.

There's several fronts and backs on Ebay for $75 each piece and one complete seat for $75. You'll still have to mix and match and refurbish.

I was sticker shocked at what folks wanted to cut a piece of metal and then use a CNC break press to shape it. I do realize hourly labor and all but $300+ moved me over to looking at other options. When I came across the other site offering them at $183 shipped that put me back at looking at this option.

TMI Products makes some really nice covers and foams for OEM seats and they also have universal seats that are complete but not cheap.

I am looking for a set of OEM 69/70 low back Mustang seats and will see what I can come up with. The one thing I do like about the universal seats is that they recline. It seems like I always prefer one or two notches back of what a fixed back seat offers so I may end up looking at aftermarket and seeing what it will take to make them work. My build is going to take a couple of years so I am not in a rush.

found some on craigslist with brackets and new tracks. early mustang seats. there's little indentions in the floor that shows you where to drill the inside bracket holes and they line up. time to recover them now at $125.00 each!
