Ground and not

Well i have my charge system working and where i think i want it. I can touch the neg side of the battery and get no light.

When i was recently tightening my distributor and clamp. I had to tune the timing a little. The plastic cap of my distributor gave a little shock.

I have a set of plug wires that came in a kit and cut and crimped em. I cut the boots down a little where they go on the top of the distributor...could that b it or am i just not grounded somewhere?

The dizzy grounds through the hold down clamp on the block. The ground wire from the dizzy goes to the - side of the coil. Check both places and make sure they are clean and snug. If you've recently painted make sure the hold down clamp and the base of the dizzy are clean to bare metal. As long as your plug wires have enough boot to completely cover the cap that shouldn't be a problem.
