proportional valve Wiring

Post by windhamdw »

Can anyone help me out on wiring for this, the person that used to own my truck cut all the wires to the proportional valve and the light. Is this right the two wires on the proportional valve does one got to ground and the other go to the light and on the light one goes to the proportional valve, but not sure where the other goes.

Thanks

Here's the master diagram for a '70. http://www.fordification.com/tech/wirin ... master.jpg Looks like one from the switch goes to the ignition and the other goes to the lamp. The lamp seems to get the ground from the insrtument cluster plug.

Thanks for the reply, but I can't follow that diagram, all the wiring has been replaced and it doesn't match up, also I need a little more details.

I just need to know where the wires need to connect to, like one wire from the light I think goes to the ignition switch but wear, there are 6 connection but only four wires that are connected. Also on the valve it looks it goes back to the ignition switch also, but on what connector.

Sorry for the type, having to us my phone because this site is being block at my work.

Thanks

One of the wires on the brake switch goes to a test only pole on the ignition switch, the other goes to the light itself. The other wire on the light goes to the plug on the instrument cluster which I assume is a ground. For where the wire connects to the ignition switch you're going to have to refer to the diagram, each pole is distinctive and it'll be obvious where it goes.
