temp sending unit/ gauge question

Post by klsund »

Hello new to forum, I have 67 F250 2x4 with 240 6 cyl engine. Temp gauge reads low with wire to sender off, jump wire to ground temp gauge jumps to high (hot), so gauge good correct? hook up new temp sender, turn key, gauge goes to hot, start engine, gauge remains at hot side reading, wiring looks all good as diagrammed, what else could cause gauge to not read, second sensor put in, same result. Help? Thanks Rick.

:wel: To Fordification!

One thought is that the new sender may be for a warning light instead of a gauge. The senders are not the same.
