Got my Volts gauge hooked up (aftermarket, not in dash), if I turn the key on only, it reads just a hair above 12.
Once I start the engine, it reads 15 while running. I'm no electrician, does that sound right to you guys?

Re: VOLTS--WHAT SHOULD IT READ?
'evening Dan.
Those numbers sound about right to me. At least, that's about how they've looked on the (seemingly healthy) cars I've fooled around with. While running, the ideal voltage is somewhere around 14, or a little more, yet your gauge may have a dial without the precision necessary to visually descern a difference of a single volt.

Re: VOLTS--WHAT SHOULD IT READ?
Cool! I was under the impression it should always read around 12, but like I said it's not my area of expertise. The gauge set isn't anything high buck or precise I am sure, so it sounds like it's working properly, that's what I wanted to know, thanks!
