Ive been thinking about this. My thoughts are to use all the car wiring. And splice it into the trucks switches and controls.

I have a 69 that I put a 05' 4.6L out of a police interceptor in. I basically used all of the engine wiring, computer wiring and put in a common ground for the entire truck. I still have all the emission crap that came on the car(going to get it removed later). I re-wired the truck with a painless kit prior to doing the swap cause one of the previous owners Frankensteined the original one. It was fairly easy, you do need a lot of patience if you don't have access to or have the factory electrical wiring book. The only problems I've had are fuel sender and fuel rail faults. senders not hooked up and had a fuel pump pressure problem. Fuel pressure still somewhat flakey. I think I need to figure out how to get a fuel check valve in line on the fuel line at the fabed tank. If your going to use ALL guages and no computer get the shop manual, if you use the computer and ALL guages find someone that can re-program the computer.

I have a 1968 f100 and an 08 interceptor engine and AEOD transmission. I bought the 2007 CV electrical wiring diagram shop manual. I don't have the engine in the truck yet but I am close to dropping it in. It would be sweet to use the truck gauges but I don't have a solution for the conversion. I saw another build cram CV the gauge cluster into the dash. Did you use the transmission? It looks like you went with a carb instead of the fuel injection too.
What steering column did you use to connect to the CV rack and pinion. Do you have automatic trans? on the column?
