I'm new here and have no plans for a major build as my 71 is in pretty nice condition. Carpet was nasty though and I'm having the seat redone. Seat will be a few days but got carpet in today and scored a more original radio. Dash was unmolested but had a pioneer there. Also got the small aftermarket steering wheel out and replaced it with a two spoke from a bronco.
Floor pans r really solid. Had a lil surface rust on driver side which I took care of. Pass side was shiny blue
Ahhhh, the scent of new carpet . . . And, new upholstery! Can it, bottle it, save it!

Believe me, my young friend, there is nothing - absolutely nothing - half so much worth doing as simply messing about in garages. (Apologies to Kenneth Grahame.)
Did headliner today.. Totally built from scratch. I think it turned out nice. I did notice my horn too but haven investigated it yet so thanks for the tip. Gotta come back apart after my turn signal switch comes so was gonna fix it then. Still no seat
I removed the headliner from my parts truck a while back. After I rehab it, I am definitely going to get someone to help me install it. That brittle fiber board is a bit unnerving to handle by yourself.
The one you made looks like it has some texture - Is it fabric covered or what?

I made the headliner from luan sheeting. I sliced the backside w a razor to weaken it to the point I cld make the necessary bends. Then I covered it w a cheap tablecloth material that had a nice woven pattern. Then to complete the effect I readied everything w white spray dye. Looks great in person. I had my original to go by for a pattern. It was too badly sagged and split to reuse. I used 1/4" which shaped up and fit fine but the visor brackets were a tight fit cuz of thickness. 1/8" wld work better I just used what I had. Total cost... Around $12
Thanks, I also had a hard time finding the carpet for the firewall. My solution was to order a carpet kit for a truck without interior fuel tank. Then I trimmed the extra off which was hemmed and used it to cover the firewall. Figured I wld share in case anyone else is having the same issue.
Still no seat! Told me two days and tmrw will be a week so I'm calling in am
Got the seat back...
Pretty sure I hate it..
Guy did a fantastic job but materials don't match my truck at all! I left him a door panel to match to and it looks nothing like I in visioned.
Any recommendations on where to purchase materials? Hate to have wasted my money but I'm unhappy. I want materials in hand before having someone recover
Looks really nice but I can see that they don't really match the door panels. Can't quite make out the color of the seat. Is it a blue or gray?
Are you talking about recovering the seat again or covering the door panels to match?
They will send you both vinyl and cloth samples so you will know what you are getting. And, let us know how it works out.

Found SMS and requested samples. Thanks. Door panels r original and flawless. Seat wld look great in an 85.. Color is blue but doesn't match dash nor doors. I shlda been more specific about what I wanted I suppose. I showed him the truck then when I returned seat I also left a door panel for reference. I assumed I had made myself clear but I guess not. Will likely return to the same upholsterer after I find material and leave more specific instructions. He did seats for 67 bronco I just finished in black and they look great as does this seat if materials were correct
