I know it should be simple but so far no luck. I'm trying to get the pins out of the electrical connector on the steering column on a 69.
I have a Lisle tool 56500 but so far no luck almost seems like they are all larger than the pins to unlock or depress them. Anybody have any pointers.

I just use a little screwdriver and it works great. My only problem is I can't see anymore.

I used a small, pointed "pick". Gently pull on the wire, from the back, and carefully push in on the "barb". It'll pop right out.

Thanks guys that did the trick I think main problem was I wasn't "manin up" enough on my pull or was one of those magic things where I just got it right and it popped out, after 45 years of being together they didn't want out. SMOOTH column here I come ! Now just have to decide 73 and up or keep my 69. Leaning more to my 69 insides with the dentside outer lower half that way no holes on firewall side and I'll run a sealed bearing in the end, with a stock 69 wheel.sargentrs wrote:I used a small, pointed "pick". A piece of hobby store brass tubing, in the right diameter, can work to remove those pins.
