Where To Buy IPVR?

Post by ScottT80 »

I'm having issues with my gauges. The temp gauge has never worked and the fuel gauge has recently died. I'm thinking the IPVR has went out in it.

So, wheres the best place to get an instrument panel voltage regulator for my '68 at? I'm not having any luck finding one locally. Napa doesn't have them... no luck at Autozone or Advance either.

LMC has them for $30 but I hate to just order that...

I would get it at either DC:

Or NPD:

Dennis Carpenter seems to be the way to go but after playing with it this afternoon I managed to get the gas gauge going again. Now just to figure out the temp gauge.

Try grounding the wire to the engine block where it hooks up to the sending unit while someone watches the gauge / light. Most of the time it will be the sending unit that's at fault. Also a lot of times it won't work due to the fact that a PO put the wrong sending unit in. If you ground the wire and the gauge /light moves your good to go-simply replace the sending unit with the correct one. NAPA and most of our other vendors carry the sending units. I'd reccommend everyone here take a look at this before choosing a vendor to do business with for parts on our trucks-real good stuff:

Thanks for the tip. I grounded out the wire to the sending unit and the gauge is good. I'll swing by Napa and see if they have one in stock.
