Starter engages at "run" position
So te title is pretty explanatory. I my starter turns with the key at run, and will not shut off even when I turn it to off. Is there a way to jump it at the solenoid so it stops cranking but will maintain the circuit to the ignition?
Theeeeeeere ya go!

Also sometimes it doesn't crank at any position. And it never cranks when you turn it left to accessory

Def sounds like the ignition switch has failed, (sending power to the solenoid all the time. You can verify this by checking the voltage on the small terminal on the starter solenoid-you should not have 12 volts there when you have the ignition switch in the run position.Mike R on Sat Oct 20, 2012 4:50 pm
