I am getting ready to wire up to a 7 wire round camper plug. My camper special already has the flat 7 wire plug but I intend to replace it with a 7 round plug.
Since my plug seems to be an untouched original plug, I was assuming I could just go by the factory wiring diagram. That's the problem, I can't fing the wire color code. I can find the diagram that's names the color, but nothing that says what it's for. I know I'm being lazy (I could test every wire) , but my connector has about 6" of the harnes hanging out next to the gas tank under the bed, so it's in a awful spot to try to test each.
My plan was to get the color code and cut and splice the new colors and run them up to a easier spot to do my final testing before connecting the new plug. Too bad some one doesn't make a adapter harness. Thanks for your help. Al

Al,
It's not always gonna be right but here's the color chart. I'd still test each wire just to save from blowing fuses.

Re: '69 Camper wire harness color code? Need wiring help.
My dad had the same problem with the 78' 250 that he had. We went to an RV place here locally "Camping World" I think it is. We found an extension 7 pin harness to get the plug into the bed without cutting into the bed. They still might sell them. If your looking at something more permanent. Pull the harness you already have down. See if it will reach the bed side, get a 7 pin plastic male socket and put it in. I said plastic because the metal ones corrode and give you intermittent problems.
