Rear driver side brake and blinker not working

Post by HDxLoki »

I replaced the bulb and it's still not working. When I turn my lights on the tail lights come on but I still have no brake or blinker light on that side and I also checked the wiring and it looked fine nothing noticeable. I'm sure it might be something simple...

Check your ground wires. If your wiring looks good, check to see if you have current at the wires at the socket in the back. It sounds to me like your turn signal switch is acting up. Your rear turn signal is actually just the brake light flashing on and off, so your brake light is routed through the turn signal switch. When it goes out, you lose both. Do your four way flashers work?

2nd vote for the turn signal. You can also go under the truck, (DS) and check for power where the harness comes out and heads to the rear.

The DS side harness that heads to the rear? What had they tied into it there? Can't say how much I dislike those cheap connectors! :hw:
