styleside taillight question for 67-72

Post by hedz »

i started replacing all my light bulbs. they were all shot. i pulled the tail light buckets out and worked them over. one broke to pieces so i went to the junk yard and found a replacement.

our tail light buckets have a lower plate attached to them with rivets. where do we get rivets to replace these? if you have a direct link to the part or have a part number for someone please post it with your comment

Yes, I agree it is a great tool to own. May not use it often, but sure comes in handy when needed.

thanks for the advice fellas. i went and bought one at harbor freight for $5.00. i broke it somehow. piece of junk. returned it for another one. this one worked. replaced the rivets in the tail light buckets so my gaskets would seat properly.

i would like to make a comment on these tail light buckets. the design is beyond stupid. if i ever climb from poverty and rebuild this whole truck, i will melt the seems of the smaller lower bucket attached with rivets so that rivets will never bee needed ever again. and also the gaskets available for these buckets are even dumber. again, if i ever rebuild this entire truck to my specifications, i will be making my own gaskets out of some real thin rubber. these foam ones were a waste of my money. period.
