Stereo System Advice for my 1972 F-100

Post by blackford72 »

Hi All, I am working on my 1972 F-100 and getting it ready for paint. And I also started driving it last week. I have been doing some thinking and I have thought about this winter after I get my truck painted, when I do, I may install a new stereo system in it. I am not sure if I want to put in a tape deck or a cd player. If I put in a cd player I may have to make some modifications. Does anybody have any tips or recommendations on what brand of stereo I should put in it? Just thought I ask. Thanks!!!

What do you use if you don't have the tabs?

You might be able to fasten homemade brackets to replace the tabs by welding them on or with screws. Just a thought. As far as stereos go, I have Sony Xplod systems in both our trucks. I have 6x9s in the doors and 6.5s in the headliner.

I did this, sounds good, but I am getting ready to take the Jensen and speakers out and go with a AM/FM in place of the AM in dash. The storage /arm rest has since been angled properly and cut down by about 5".
