Electric fan thermostat and temp sensor

I'll be installing an electric fan in my truck soon. I have the option of either using a thermostat that screws into the manifold or one of the ones that pushes through the fins of the radiator. I would like to use the screw in kind because it should provide a more accurate temp to the fan controller. Only problem is I would also like to use the stock temp sending unit that also screws into the manifold. Is there some way that I could hook it up so that the thermostat does both jobs? Or is there another place that I can install either the thermostat or temp sending unit?

maybe you could use a T in the manifold to use both sensors.

Just an idea: Get a thermostat housing with a threaded bung you can put the Fan Temp Sensor in. It is AFTER the thermostat but should not matter for fan control. I did this so I could use the factory temp gauge and an aftermarket one.

go for what Hemmi06 is saying. Got the push in radiator style and its not real accurate and kinda sucks to have it sticking in the radiator. Never had problems but if I had the chance to do it over Id do what hes talking bout.

Thanks for the tip. I hadn't realized that was what that threaded bung on the water neck was for. And here I had everything I needed already. And if I'm worried about it being after the TStat I can just swap the temp sensor and the gauge sending unit so the important one gets an accurate read.

I like them in the radiator, prefer the cold side tank but the cold side fins will work. Figure the fan is just cooling the coolant in the radiator it shouldn't care about the engine temp since it can't do much about it. Whichever you deceide it's important to set the temp so it doesn't conflict with the coolant thermostat, you want the fan to cycle on and off. Buddies T'bird has a 195` thermostat so we set the fan for 205` on temp, that way it'll kick on at 205 and kick off at 197 or so. It works great, fan runs for about 30 seconds at the time and doesn't run going down the road unless it's really hot.

It would be ok if you have one that does more than slip in fins of radiator. Ones in fins are easy to come out and kinda look unfinished to me. Just my opinion though.
