I had the white wire and the red wire switched. now the problem I'm Having is that when driving I will lose power for a while and have to put in neutral and restart.. I may just go back to using a gm hei module The only problem is I forgot how to wire it. If anyone has a diagram please post.

neutral to restart may be th enss out of adjustment or dirty. pull up on the shifter when restarting in in park to see if its out of adjustment. for losing power whiel driving the usual suspect is a loose wire or bad ignition switch. here are the diagrams for swapping to almost all of the goodies are trucks may want. http://www.fordification.com/forum/view ... =8&t=48178

Hey Fordman in this thread you posted a pic, It shows that I need to cut the Pink Resistor wire, disconnect the brown wire going to the Starter solenoid, and disconnect the Red and Green wire going to the coil. It shows to connect the Red wire from the Duraspark module to the Red wire about 4 inches from the Ignition switch. What is the Reasoning for this and there is no just red wire coming off the Ignition switch. Don't I need the resistor wire? Can you help me. I very much appreciate your help.

For the Duraspark (DS) you do Not use the Resistor wire so you want to take it out of the circuit, you want to wire the Red wire from the DS to where the pink wire connected at the ignition switch. Or if you have the blue wire on the firewall that was used in some emissions trucks you can hook to it and then wire to the (+) side of the coil like in that diagram (leaving the pink wire still in the truck but not using it). The Duraspark uses full 12V to the coil and doesn't need the resister wire. This also eliminates using the brown wire from the starter solenoid as it was used to boost the coil to 12V at starting with the points system BUT you want/can hook this Brown wire up to the White wire on the DS.

You will also need to replace the coil for one that is designed for the full 12V used in the DS system as the points one is not made to be used this way, points coil is for 6-9V used on it.

what you wrote about the coil sounds like it is the right one to use.
