Adding fuse block for accessories

Could anyone make a simple wiring diagram for adding a additional fuse block for accessories?
I bought a distribution block from NAPA but it did not come with directions.
If you run a hot from the battery that would give you constant power, how would you get power
with key on ? Do you need to run relays ? I want to add gauges and stereo amp.

what year is your truck. basically you want to run power from the run side of the ignition switch to get power on only when the key is on.

You don't want to get your power from the run side of the ignition switch, the main power into the truck is under-rated as it is and adding more drain on it will cause you BIG problems...

You want to run a main power wire from the battery to a circuit breaker or fuse that is rated to handle the power on the wire into the fuse block (wire is rated for fuse as well), then use a relay that is rated for this power that is "switched" on from the ignition switch, then run this main power into the new fuse block and out to your new Accessories... See attached pic.

My add-on fuse box gets it's power from the alternator. I chose that point so the the amp-meter will work correctly. I have a fuseable link at that connection. The main wire that feeds the fuse-block is 8 gauge.

The fuse-block is in the engine compartment mounted to the firewall. From there, I can add new accessories as needed.

ATM, I have two feeds, one for each radiator fan. Each fan has it's own relay, wire and fuse. If one fan fails, I still have the other fan. One fan by it's self seems to be not quite enough to keep her cool. There is a common switch that pulls down both relays.

Nope, no ground needed for the fuse block.
