Troubleshooting my stoplamps

Post by neoxman »

I'm trying to troubleshoot my stoplamps. The lights work but the stoplamps don't. I tested the switch on the pedal with my tester and got a good signal. Now I'm tracing wires from the mechanical stoplamp switch connector back and ran into something on the wiring diagrams i can't find a description for. Can anyone tell me what that is circled in the diagram?

that will do it. since the brake and turn are the same side of the bulb.

maybe a bad TSS? but that's a pita to rewire, since the wires go through the column.

i got voltage at the switch with my TSS unhooked... might want to take a look at your TSS connectors under the dash since it completes the loop for the stoplamps too ... maybe a bad connection or wire.

I think what happens is a lot of ppl add trailer wiring and then that puts too much load on the circuits and thing like the TSS get worn out quicker. You think with the U.S. goin' to the moon while some of these vehicles were manufactured, they would have at least put a proper tap in for trailer lights.
