intermittent rear turn signals

Afternoon guys

Sorry if I've missed this issue in a previous thread

I noticed the other day that the rear indicators on my 1970 weren't working. Changed both bulbs, still nothing....then i tried again and they worked for a few tests...then tried again and they didn't

The front indicators work every time - even when the rear's aren't working

I followed the wiring and checked / re soldered all the joins and earths...didn't help

rear tail lights, brake lights and reverse light work fine all the time

I think it could be the steering wheel switch, would this be possible?

Fricken hate intermittent probs!!

Any ideas??

I had the same issue awhile ago. Try taking the whole light out and clean the connector and put some die electric grease in the bulb area. Hope this helps

it may be the contacts inside of the socket are worn or dirty.

If your brake light works all the time then there shouldn't be anything wrong with the bulb/housing and your wiring is all good as the turn uses the same wire for the brakes...
I would suspect the Turn Signal Switch in the steering column, try wigging the lever around some next time it stops working and see if starts working again. If so then you will need to take the steering wheel off and look at the TSS, you may be able to just replace the Turn Cam if the contacts are not to worn on the switch to bad.
