I read this tech article (http://www.fordification.com/tech/wiperdelay.htm) and it is definitely something I am interested in doing. I am wondering if anyone has, rather than scour ebay or the wrecking yards, purchased the brand new replacement switch for vehicles with factory delay wipers from LMC. It is listed in their catalog for 73-79 trucks on page 140, item #9 (http://www.lmctruck.com/icatalog/fc/full.aspx?Page=140) and sells for $45.
I ask because looking at the picture of the unit in the tech arcticle, the delay switch and control box appear to be a one piece assembly (not plugged together but hard wired) and the item in the diagram in the LMC catalog looks more like just a switch (I know, its just a drawing but still).

that is just the switch with no control box. you have to have the switch and the delay box in order for it to work properly. the control box is electronic.

Re: 78-79 Factory Delay Wiper Switch
I did this upgrade just recently. I found one on ebay that the guy said was from the 79 f100. After looking at the pictures I felt it was from a 1980 model, and I was right. But no biggie just a simple wire change in the plug and it worked just fine just like the tutural said. The ones for the 79 usually sell for a higher amount than the ones for the 80 model. I picked mine up for a little over $25 if I remember correct. So just a thought, if you don't mind making the wire change it will probally save you some money. This is a great upgrade and I love mine.

I bought a used Bronco switch that came with the control box. It installed and worked just like the article said. The LMC unit is $80, most eBay vender's want $40, I waited until I found one for $20.

Thanks for the replies. I picked up a used setup from a member here for a very reasonable price. Installed it today and am happy as a clam!
