I put a brand new 1970 mustang gas tank (with new fuel sender) in my highboy. I then picked up an autometer fuel gauge (10-73ohm).
The half way mark on the autometer is offset to the right more (not centered).
Stock gauge in the bump has 1/2 right in the middle. Should i of gotten the gauge that has 1/2 right in the middle?
Fuel gauage - linear or non linear

Re: Fuel gauage - linear or non linear
As long as the gauge is designed for the Ohm range of the sending unit then it is correct, the gauge is calibrated for that Ohm range so the markings on it will (should) be correct. Like a lot of the new cars they show the 1/2 higher and then have a "Low Warning" area but it is all in the calibration... Not that the new ones are correct this way either...
but empty seams to always be right.

Re: Fuel gauage - linear or non linear
ahhh, ok , won't worry about it then.
Super excited to have my first ever working fuel gauge in a bump
With a brand new sender and autometer sport-comp fuel gauge i'll have a pretty top of the line setup and will no longer have to use my wooden stick, or have to call mom when i run out
