mystery thingy

Post by blumule »

ive been pulling parts off a 71 f100 and i noticed a switch of some sort in the door jamb . Its not the buzzer switch. this is just a oval plate with two wires coming out of it on the inside jamb. It says tempco on it, I couldnt tell where the wires went from there.

its part of the trs. transmission related spark system. probably most of it has been disabled in your truck. so its probably nothing to worry about. you dont have to do anything with it. EDIT: here is the link. http://www.fordification.com/library/ma ... temId=6324

Its a temp sensor for early kind of smog mess. It sensed outside air temp and had box to adjust timing retard by limiting vacuum advance.
