Brighter brake lights with stock bulb. "L.E.D" now

Good job showing your results with pictures and I must say, I'm surprised that the difference wouldn't be more pronounced. When I first got my truck I painted the inside of the lights with aluminum (silver) paint but I didn't do a before and after pics. I'll keep following this thread with interest and your other threads as well. Nice work

Looks like the paint made some, but not a lot of diff. Some is better than none. Thanks for posting the pics.

I did notice that the tail light covers were dirty and dark, realy worn out. I didn't clean them because I plan on replacing them as soon as I get some extra cash. I will also be chroming out the light assembly so that means TO BE CONTINUED.

Will the 2357 bulbs work? The specs claim 500 lumens as opposed to 403 for the 1157 bulbs.

You might try LED's from http://www.superbrightleds.com/
They are very expensive, but the ones that have the non-directional lighting look like they will work with the reflectors. I have bought led's for the Harley, definitely would like to upgrade the truck. Let me know how it goes after you upgrade yours.

I bought from them before, smooth deal. I bought some small lights to install inside the freezer box. Sometimes in a time of stupidity, I would forget to turn off the freezer lights, and those 1156 bulbs would warm up the freezer.
I am putting leds on the truck I am doing now. Just because they last longer, and use less power.

If some dumb a-- is going to run into you, I don't think that brighter lights will make their driving, or them, any brighter.

Marz, I have the solution.....I converted mine to led and you cannot tell - same lens. If you are interested, hit me back as it will take a little time to explain it and, I will have to water jet some more adapters for you.

So I decided to go with the L.E.D lights for the rear.
I picked up my lights last night form Auto zone for $29.99 each.
I'll be posting updates and before and after pictures of the setup.

I recently sprayed mine silver too and they were brighter but still not as bright as I'd like them. The one LED tail lights i've always liked even before they became popular were the ones on the old 2000-2005 Cadillac sedan devilles. Unlike most of the LEDs out there where you can see each bulb those appeared smooth and had more LEDs per square inch. I've also seen people make there own LEDs taillight assemblies, something I might explore down the road.

You can buy a roll of CHROME tape in the hardware section & tape the inside
back ground ,makes it is some brighter,and does not cost much either.
I also taped the inside of my lawnmower headlights too.

Today i'll snap a picture of the led and the stock setup "ON" at the same time to see the diference.
Next thing to do is to build the housing for the revers light.








I'll be making a bracket to hold the light assembly to the plate.
